Game of Life · lifegameproject.com · last updated 24 June 2026
Game of Life is a small, ad-free Conway's Game of Life game. We try to collect as little as possible. This policy explains what the app stores and what (if anything) leaves your device.
What stays on your device
- Your language choice, saved patterns/blueprints, lesson progress, and game settings are stored locally in your browser (
localStorage). They never leave your device and we cannot see them.
- The app works fully offline.
What you choose to submit
- Leaderboard: if you submit a challenge score, the display name you type and your score are sent to and stored on our leaderboard so they can be shown publicly. Please don't use your real name if you'd rather stay anonymous — any nickname works.
- Community gallery: if you share a pattern, that pattern and the name you attach to it are stored and shown publicly in the gallery.
Submitting to the leaderboard or gallery is always optional — the game is fully playable without it.
What we do NOT collect
- No accounts, no sign-in, no passwords.
- No advertising, no third-party ad/tracking SDKs, no location, no contacts.
- No analytics that identify you personally.
Children
The app is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the only data you can submit is an optional display name and score, we ask that children use a nickname rather than a real name.
Removing your data
Local data: clear your browser storage / app data, or use the in-app Clear options. Leaderboard or gallery entries: email us at the address below and we'll remove them.
